OneNet’s Accounts Receivable Specialist

Reliability takes on a whole new meaning for Lilia Concannon. As OneNet’s accounts receivable specialist, Concannon makes it a priority to be available for OneNet customers.

Concannon started at OneNet four years ago working in the provisioning department, before being offered a position as OneNet’s accounts receivable specialist. Concannon was actually retired before starting her position at OneNet, but she says that the people make it easy to be here.

“Everyone at OneNet is so personable and understanding,” said Concannon. “The staff is extremely knowledgeable, so if I ever have a question, I know that they will have an answer.”

In her role, Concannon is primarily responsible for handling incoming payments, but she also helps with the Oklahoma Universal Service Fund (OUSF) to ensure that qualified Oklahoma schools, libraries and healthcare facilities receive the funding they need to be successful. Recently, her department streamlined these processes by cutting back on paper usage. Concannon noted that the new process not only uses OneNet’s resources more efficiently, but also cuts costs.

While her hard work and efficiency contribute to OneNet’s success, Concannon believes that part of what makes OneNet successful is simple – reliability.

“Regardless of the time or day, our team is always available to assist with customers’ needs,” said Concannon. “Our reliability is what sets us apart from a customer perspective.”

Many people may not know that Concannon’s family is originally from Mexico, and she was the first of her family to be born in the United States. Concannon’s Mexican heritage inspires her cooking, with one of her specialties being pozole, a traditional Mexican soup made from hominy.

When she’s not making pozole or handling incoming payments, Concannon enjoys going to the theatre, church, concerts, traveling with her sisters and spending time with her family. She and her family have had season tickets at the Lyric Theatre for over 20 years, and she enjoys it today just as much as she did then. Lilia is also an active member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Moore, where she serves as a Eucharistic Minister.

Her family is large, and they make it a priority to spend time with one another. While Concannon describes herself as thoughtful, her family might have different opinions.

“My brother-in-law would always tell me that I’m bossy, and I think my husband might agree with that,” said Concannon.

Laughing, Concannon added that at the end of the day she is a thinker, who is focused on solving the task at hand and making sure things get done correctly all the way through. While problem-solving skills are essential for her role, they have also proven useful outside of her day-to-day tasks.

“One of my best memories at OneNet happened a few years ago when we played a trivia game of ‘Family Feud’ at the staff picnic,” said Concannon. “My team had such a great time, and we actually won!”

Lilia travels several times a year, usually with at least one of her sisters, to visit family and sightsee around the world. Her most recent trip was in February when her and her husband went to Santa Fe, New Mexico to celebrate her birthday. Some of her other recent trips include New York City, Boston, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Mexico City, where she spends time catching up with family. Looking ahead, she and her sister have planned a trip to London, England this May.

Concannon’s favorite quote reads, “It is not the years in your life, it is the life in your years.” Whether she is traveling to London, going to country music concerts, or serving OneNet customers, Concannon ensures that there is plenty of life in her years.
